The NFTA Transit Police held its annual Beards and Badges campaign to make the holidays brighter for a few local families in need. This year all funds raised benefitted two families from Mount Saint Mary's Neighborhood Health Center and a family of the Buffalo Urban League.
Earlier this month, TAPD officer (elves) shopped for, wrapped, and delivered toys, grocery cards, clothes, and home schooling supplies to all three families. The deliveries were extremely special, filled with joy, laughter and some heartfelt tears.
"This year has been very difficult for members of our community during the current health crisis. We are extremely grateful to everyone who came together to make a big difference for these families during the holidays," said TAPD Chief George Gast.
