Top Dog (3)
Certified Top Dog Handler

TAPD Officer Elliott Justinger and his four-legged partner, Eiko, have returned from the National Explosives Detection Canine training academy, which was held from July 7-Sept. 29 at Lackland Airforce Base in Texas. The homecoming was certainly sweet as they graduated with the program's "Top Dog" award.

Eiko, aka "Wildman," a two-year old German Shorthair Pointer, was matched with Elliott based on their similar personalities. Eiko is full of energy with a robust appetite, eating seven cups of food a day (yes, that's a lot).  After a hard day's work, Eiko looks forward to some playtime with his pink kong and chuckit toy.

While in training, the dynamic duo searched inside aircrafts to sniff out explosives in cargo, luggage, and passengers in a terminal. They also worked on buses, ferries, and trains.  Each year, they will continue to be evaluated by TSA to be sure they are at the top of their game.

"I am thrilled to have been selected for this program. It is an honor to have such a great partner to work with to keep our community and airports safe," said Officer Justinger.

Congratulations Elliott and Eiko!
