TAPD's Jamie Maloney's son, Josh Maloney, recently graduated from the Police Academy. As we celebrate National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (Jan. 9), we want to share her thoughts about working as a Transit Police Officer and her support for her son in his new career.

"I have always had a passion for helping others. As a police officer, I am grateful for the opportunity to assist those in need and find different opportunities for them or just be there to provide feedback and advice. Building relationships between the community we serve and the Transit Police is very important to me. When we have a successful outcome of a situation, it is a very satisfying feeling knowing we were able to make a positive impact. My husband is also a (town) Police Officer, and having my whole family in law enforcement is also very exciting. I’m so proud of Josh for all of his dedication, determination, and accomplishments.  I look forward to working with him and the other new TAPD officers in serving this great community in the best way possible," said Jamie.
