The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is offering Security Awareness Training at the Buffalo Airport on August 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The training is open to all NFTA staff and will be held in the administration's large conference room.

Below is an overview of the training:

Understanding Threat Actors: Employees will learn about the different threat actors they may encounter in their workplace and their standard tactics.

Indicators of Attacks, Behavioral Observations, and Suspicious Activity Report: Employees will receive an overview of the eight signs of terrorism, indicators of attacks, and behavioral observations. We will discuss the "See Something, Say Something" program and the types of information employees should include when reporting suspicious activity or objects.

Your Facility as Infrastructure at Risk: Our training sessions are tailored to each facility. This includes a comprehensive discussion on vulnerable public and non-secure workplace areas to enhance employees' situational awareness and develop a security mindset. By actively participating in the security culture, employees will be better equipped to handle challenging situations that may arise in their workplace.

Reaction and Response to Incidents: This training module will equip employees with an understanding of how to best survive an active shooter incident and increase their awareness of law enforcement's response to incidents at their workplace.

If you are interested in the training for you or your team members, please contact Jessica.LaFalce@nfta.com by July 31 EOD. The class will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
