The NFTA has secured a U.S. patent for a new safety barrier invented by two Metro Rail employees for intended installation between Metro Rail cars. This barrier will provide an essential layer of protection, significantly enhancing safety for passengers and pedestrians by deterring "cut-throughs" between rail cars.

David State collaborated with attorneys from Hodgson Russ, LLP, and our engineering team to prepare, file, and successfully prosecute the patent application. The new barriers are currently being installed between rail cars within our Metro rail system.
