Metro's Gary Bennett speaks to students

Graduate students from the University of Michigan’s A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning, as part of the annual Expanded Horizons program, visit a rustbelt city to gain perspective on local planning issues and organizations. Continuing this long-standing tradition, University of Michigan had chosen Buffalo this year due to its similarities with Detroit and to learn more about the innovative planning efforts going on around the city.

As part of their visit, the students stopped at the NFTA on September 12 to see “planning” in a real-world context.  The group spoke with the Executive Director Kim Minkel, Director of Public Transit Tom George, and Deputy Director of Public Transit James Morrell and other NFTA and Metro staff about the intricacies of our robust public transit system.
