Johanne (Yohan) Jayaratne has joined the NFTA as our new Director, Aviation. Johanne has over 30 years of experience in aviation and tourism with extensive work experience in North America, Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and the Pacific Rim, including previous roles as the Vice President of the Vancouver Airport Authority and the Executive Director for Airport & Aviation Services that served as the provider of airport operations for Sri Lanka’s aviation industry. Johanne holds a Bachelor of Science from Northrop University in Aerospace Engineering Technology, a Professional Post Graduate certification, and credentials in Aviation Management (AvMP) from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Law (JD) from the University of London.  Johanne also has his FAA Pilot Certification and License.

Johanne is an avid blue water sailor and revels in the camaraderie of his dearest companion and wife, Jeevani. He also declares that he has never worked a single day in his life, as he has always followed his passion – Aviation, and all things Aviation!
