Laura Fischer joins the NFTA as the Paratransit Customer Service and Systems Manager, bringing more than 17 years of experience in healthcare, human services, and leadership. Throughout her career, she has specialized in customer advocacy, program management, regulatory compliance, crisis intervention, and team leadership, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for individuals with complex needs.

Prior to joining the NFTA, Laura served in leadership roles within skilled nursing, hospital, behavioral health, and community-based settings, where she oversaw interdisciplinary teams, managed complex service delivery systems, and developed collaborative partnerships throughout Western New York.

Laura is passionate about accessibility, customer service, and helping individuals maintain independence within their communities. She is excited to bring her experience in systems management, problem-solving, and relationship-building to the NFTA and looks forward to supporting the organization's mission of providing safe, reliable, and accessible transportation services.

Outside of work, Laura is a proud mother of four who enjoys boxing, cooking, gardening, shopping, art, music, and spending time with her dog and cat. A lifelong Western New Yorker, she values community involvement, family, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
