Metro Rail Ambassador, Jose Yancey, is thrilled to receive his $1,000 bonus for referring Katina Spearman to become a Metro Bus Driver. This payment is part of NFTA's Referral Program, where employees earn money for sending good people our way.
Mr. Yancey began his career with the NFTA as a Bus Driver at Cold Spring Station in 2008. He became a Metro Rail Ambassador in 2022 to assist with the implementation of Metro's new fare system, MetGo. As a Rail Ambassador, he helps riders navigate the system, including loading their MetGo cards, understanding schedules, and using the fare gates. He is in our Metro system on daily basis and is committed to promoting the benefits of using public transit and joining our team.
"I love working at Metro, and I am excited to help bring Ms. Spearman on board. I always tell people that if they come to work here, they'll love it. I say, come drive the bus, we will help you get your CDL and teach you everything you need to know. You will earn a steady income with benefits and have opportunities to grow in your career. I am also grateful for the ability to earn extra money for referring friends to the NFTA; it's a great place to work," said Mr. Yancey.
The NFTA has distributed thousands of dollars in employee referral payments since the program's launch in December of 2021. All employees of the NFTA, whether represented by a bargaining unit or not, are eligible to receive payments for the successful referral of up to five individuals who become full-time in a position covered by the Employee Referral Program.
You can earn up to $5,000 in referral bonuses! If you know anyone interested in working as a full-time driver or mechanic, please have them submit an application included on our jobs.page. If you have any questions about the referral program or hiring process, please contact Human Resources.
